„Inclusive Vocational Training" – a Key to better Education for Young People with bad School Leaving CertificatesDespite an increasingly critical professional debate, German education policy still holds as a core belief that adolescents who lack apprenticeship entry maturity can only commence their vocational training after successfully completing a specific transitional period.According to the developments regarding inclusive education resulting from the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, this article will critically examine this belief. First, programmatic and conceptual considerations of inclusive education in the broad UNESCO definition will be reflected upon. Research findings will then be presented that indicate that an inclusive vocational training is often linked to more favourable educational trajectories
